ABOUT US

Diggin’ It Excavating was started in 1998 when Kris Plambeck realized a need to start a service to help others, like his mom, with excavation needs. An old bobcat loader with a backhoe attachment was the humble beginning of what is now a full-service excavating company on Salt Spring Island. Over the years, the company has grown steadily, expanding its fleet of equipment and range of services to meet the diverse needs of the island community. Today, Diggin’ It Excavating is known for its expertise in site preparation, foundation excavation, drainage solutions, septic system installation, and landscaping projects. With a commitment to quality workmanship, reliability, and personalized service, the company continues to play a vital role in both residential and commercial development on Salt Spring Island, all while staying true to its roots as a locally owned and operated family business.

At Diggin’ It, safety is our top priority. We are fully insured, course certified, and in good standing with WCB (Worker’s Compensation Board), ensuring that all our projects meet the highest safety standards. Our commitment to compliance and workplace safety means peace of mind for our clients, knowing that every job is completed with care, professionalism, and adherence to industry regulations.
